AAS seeks to appoint 6 Research Assistants (RA) to cover the 3 provinces, gathering and analysing capacity assessment data from the selected CSO’s as set out in the OCA tool.

Overall Job Function

Under the supervision of the District Coordinator, the Research Assistants (RAs) will lead the overall data collection, collation, validation, and reporting on the organisational capacity assessments across the selected CSOs.

 

Key Responsibilities

The RA will be responsible for the collection and processing of data, samples, and/or specimens as set out in the OCA tool. In addition, the RA will perform and record findings in strict accordance with specified protocols as necessary. The RA will also travel to various CSOs within a specified geographical area, in accordance with the objectives of the programme.

Some of the key deliverables will include:

  • Review CSOs’ programmatic, financial, governance and human resources policies and procedures.
  • Collate data and populate into the data collection tool.
  • Submit weekly reports to Provincial Coordinator as per stipulated timelines.
  • Assist with routine data analysis and interpretation, as specifically assigned; may utilize specialized analytical equipment and/or instrumentation or specified statistical data analysis programs and software.
  • Assist with routine data verification and quality control, ensuring data integrity and consistency with prescribed study protocol.
  • Follow established AAS policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by Provincial Coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate records of data collected, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary
  • Prepare, maintain, and update regular reports as stipulated by the Provincial Coordinator
  • Summarize project results

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Social Sciences or Master’s in Public Health
  • Experience in conducting public health research
  • Experience with specialized data collection and data analysis software or datasets

Competencies

  • Ability to understand and follow specific, scientific protocol instructions and procedures.
  • Computer skills including use of various database applications.
  • Ability to analyse, evaluate, verify, and edit data.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality a MUST.
  • Proficiency in at least one local language spoken in the province of choice.
